An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" [9 x 14 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) When Knighthood was in Flower, the 1922 Robert G. Vignola silent romantic medieval melodrama (based on the novel by Charles Major; about a noblewoman in France who is engaged to King Louis XII, but she falls in love with a commoner, and she manages to run off with him by posing as his young brother!) starring Marion Davies, Forrest Stanley, Lyn Harding (as Henry VIII), Theresa Maxwell Conover, and Pedro de Cordoba. Note that this movie was, at this time, the most expensive movie ever produced, at a cost of $1.8 million, surely underwritten by William Randolph Hearst, Miss Davies' boyfriend! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this herald! Note that this is from a wonderful collection of heralds we were consigned. We auctioned the first 30 from this collection (the very best ones) in our April 2024 Major Auction. We will auction more from this collection every four weeks until they are all sold, and this time there are 42 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include many that we have either never before auctioned or only auctioned once or twice before.. The collection only included one of each herald, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
