An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A Woman Rebels, the 1936 Mark Sandrich feminist romantic melodrama (based on a novel by Netta Syrett; set in Victorian England, about a woman who is an early feminist, and who lives alone, is outspoken, and has a job) starring Katharine Hepburn, Herbert Marshall, Elizabeth Allan, Donald Crisp, Doris Dudley, David Manners, and Van Heflin (eighth billed in his first movie!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1936 movie posters from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a window card, and no other movie posters (only stills and lobby cards), from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also, note that this poster was one of the posters found in the legendary Royal Theatre Collection, in Canada over 40 years ago. This was the most amazing find of 1930s and 1940s posters ever, because not only were most in remarkable condition (most with paper that was as white as when it was printed), but also because it contained many of the best titles of those years, and there were many thousands of posters and lobby cards in all. Despite these having been sold over 40 years ago, many of these posters have rarely again been offered for sale or at auction. The poster offered here was purchased from the Royal Theatre Collection!
UPDATED 02/17/2020: Note that we have updated the Important Added Info section. Condition: very good to fine. The poster had tiny separation at the top and bottom crossfolds, and someone put a piece of conservation tape on the back of each area. They also put a small piece of tape on the back of a pinhole in the top right corner. Otherwise, the poster is in really excellent condition (see our image)! Learn More about condition grades
