Richard Jones silent romantic south-of-the-border crime adventure religious melodrama ("The peerless 'Doug' in his fastest moving picture"; Fairbanks is an outlaw who lives by a shrine to the Madonna, and after religious people come to the shrine and leave offerings, he plans to steals the money, but he falls for Lupe Velez, and, after the Madonna herself appears to him in a vision [cleverly played in an unbilled cameo by his wife, the angelic Mary Pickford!], Fairbanks undergoes a religious conversion, and stops his life of crime!) starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr. (in the title role "as The Gaucho"), Lupe Velez, Joan Barclay, Eve Southern, Gustav von Seyffertitz, and Mary Pickford (in an unbilled cameo role!) Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this great title card, and that was 27 years ago, when we auctioned a complete set of lobby cards! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a tack hole in each corner, with a circular stain and very tiny surface tears around each of those tack holes. There is a faint brown stain in the upper left, in the bottom of the "AI" of "FAIRBANKS", with a few faint smudges in the blank white background to the left of that. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
