eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5b150 ADVENTURE LC #7 1945 Clark Gable says goodbye to Greer Garson & Joan Blondell! Date Sold 4/2/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #7 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Adventure, the 1945 Victor Fleming romantic love triangle gambling melodrama ("Victor Fleming's Production of MGM's Adventure"; "Based on a novel by Clyde Brion Davis") starring Clark Gable (this was Gable's first movie after three years in World War II, and the tagline was "Gable's back and Garson's got him!"), Greer Garson, Joan Blondell, Thomas Mitchell, Tom Tully, John Qualen, Richard Haydn, Lina Romay, Harry Davenport, Betty Blythe, and Pierre Watkin. Note that this movie was the first one that Clark Gable made after serving in World War II, and that is why the tagline for the movie started with "Gable's back", because he enlisted in the war, as did so many other top stars! Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. We are doing something in this set of auctions we rarely do! A couple of years ago, we were approached by a very long time collector, and he asked us if he could give us an entire auction of single lobby cards by himself. We agreed, and held that auction in 2017, and later that same year, a different collector sent us a different group of 999 lobby cards and we repeated the process. Now we have a third such "single owner" collection. This one was originally assembled in Australia, which is why some of the cards have either Australian paper snipes attached or Australian ratings stamps (but many do not have them). This collection originally contained 1,100 cards, and we auctioned 100 of them in our March Major Auction, and now we are auctioning the remaining 999 in THIS set of auctions, and after this auction, there will be no more cards to be offered. As will immediately be evident when you look at the cards, many of them are from titles where you almost never see any lobby cards, so this is a rare opportunity to acquire many cards that almost never are offered for sale or at auction! Condition: good. There is a Canadian censor stamp in the middle right, with pinholes and faint smudges scattered around the edges (a few of the pinholes were touched up with black marker in the right background). See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card. Learn More about condition grades
