Artist: Tom Jung Important Added Info: Note that despite having a 1977 date, this poster was created for the 1982 video re-release and not the 1977 first release. We contacted Star Wars experts Pete Vilmur and Steve Sansweet about the strange R82 Star Wars posters. They confirmed that in 1979, 20th Century Fox gave Lucasfilm back their copyright and merchandising rights as part of a deal. In 1982, Lucasfilm created a one-sheet, standee, 40x60 and insert poster (the insert was part of a giveaway) to promote the video release of Star Wars. All of these items look like 1977 items (they were printed from the same plates) except for the tiny "LucasFilm Ltd" copyright line under the artwork! Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has slight discoloration scattered throughout (more noticeable in the credits area where there is some drip staining as well and in the blank borders). There are creases at top and bottom, with one larger crease at upper right that some scuffing.
