MIRACLE RIDER 1sheet

Appears in Serial Movie Posters

BOOK SOLD OUT
The image at right appears in the book we published as shown above. While we once owned this item, we did not auction it through eMoviePoster.com (which is why no price or date is listed) nor do we have it available for purchase.

The Miracle Rider, the 1935 B. Reeves Eason & Armand Schaefer Native American Indian cowboy western serial ("Sensational 15 episode serial of the Texas Rangers"; "Fifteen thrill-packed episodes with the greatest western star in the history of motion pictures!"; "The greatest western star rides again!"; "A Mascot Master Serial"; Mix is a Texas Ranger who helps Native Americans keep from getting their land stolen, and he is made an honorary chief) starring Tom Mix ("Foremost Western Star in the History of Motion Pictures"; "Idol of every boy in the world!"; "The outstanding Western Star of all time!..."; "His first serial! His greatest picture!"), Tony Jr. (billed as "with Tony, Jr."), Joan Gale, Charles Middleton, Robert Frazer, Niles Welch, Bob Kortman, Tom London, Edmund Cobb, and Charles King. This was basically Tom Mix's final movie after 280 films, and there are many interesting aspects to it. It had a very sympathetic portrayal of Native American Indians and their plight. The movie had ambitions of being an epic, and included scenes with such western legends as Buffalo Bill, Davy Crockett, and Daniel Boone. It also had several of the best known serial and western actors in it, including Charles Middleton, Iron Eyes Cody, and Yakima Canutt, and Olympic champion Jim Thorpe had a minor role! Note that Tom Mix had been the number one silent cowboy star, and that he had continued making westerns until 1929. Note that it has been said that Tom Mix's horse Tony (who co-starred with him in all those many silent movies) was the greatest horse ever in westerns (apparently he could untie knots with his teeth and he would run INTO burning buildings, something no other horse would do). He was in all of Mix's movies until Mix retired in 1929, Mix came out of retirement in 1932 and made five movies, all with "Tony Jr.", and then he retired again. If anyone knows more about why Tony stopped making movies in 1929 or about Tony Jr., and whether he was really Tony's son, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
