An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 131 pages) (Learn More)

The Prodigal Women, the circa 1940s screenplay written by DeWitt Bodeen. It appears that this screenplay was never produced, but we are far from experts on this subject. Note that Mr. Bodeen had been a successful RKO script writer, and he had great success in the 1940s with movies like Cat People (and its sequel), and with plays that became movies like The Enchanted Cottage, and I Remember Mama, but we can find no record of this play, as either a play or a movie, so we wonder if it wasn't something he wrote before he became successful (and he obviously cared enough about it to have it bound along with his most successful plays!). If anyone knows more about this screenplay, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that the screenplay was written by DeWitt Bodeen The script was the personal copy of screenwriter DeWitt Bodeen, who had this script professionally bound with a hardcover binding, and he autographed the first page of the script. We are auctioning this script along with three other hard bound scripts that also were Mr. Bodeen's personal copy. Note that in the back of this bound script is an 8-page script for a "test scene" for this play, to be performed by the characters Betsy and Lambert!

Condition: very good. The hardcovers are scuffed, more so around the edges and on the spine. The interior pages have slightly darkened around the edges, but they are not fragile and are otherwise in nice condition!
