3 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

The Laurel-Hardy Murder Case, the 1930 James Parrott crime murder mystery screwball comedy short (produced by Hal Roach; the already cliched plot of a group of people gathered in a spooky house to find out which one will inherit a fortune, and there is a murderer present; the movie is a comic parody of this old plot!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Frank Austin, Stanley Blystone, Bobby Burns, and Dell Henderson (a man, playing the housekeeper in drag!). This is widely considered to be one of the most enjoyable of the Laurel & Hardy shorts (and one of the ones that holds up best when viewed by present day audiences!).

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1930 movie paper of any kind from this Laurel & Hardy short is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned four total stills from this movie (three had the same image and of those three one was reconsigned to us, so we have only auctioned stills with two different images) but these three stills have completely different images from those stills and otherwise we have auctioned NO other movie paper from it whatsoever in all of our years of auctioning! Note that this set of stills (which is one of six early Laurel and Hardy titles we are currently auctioning in six separate auctions) comes to us from the collection of Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was apparently purchased by Mr. Crawford in a collection with other 1920s and early 1930s stills that had been used at a theater called the "BJ Nickolodeon", which stamped "Property of the BJ Nickelodeon" on the back of most of their stills. Early Laurel and Hardy stills from the fist release of the movies are incredibly rare! Note also each still has a paper snipe on the back giving information about the scene on the front (one of the stills is in German and the other two are in English)!

Condition: very good to fine. The stills have a few very minor creases but are otherwise in excellent condition.
