Douglas' Magnificent Obsession, the classic 1954 Douglas Sirk romantic medical doctor melodrama ("The Great Love Story... By the author of 'The Robe'"; "From the notable novel by Lloyd C. Douglas"; "Produced by Ross Hunter"; about a spoiled rich man who inadvertently causes the death of a heroic doctor and later causes his widow to become blind; he becomes a doctor himself, romances the widow and later saves her life!) starring Jane Wyman (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Rock Hudson, Barbara Rush, Agnes Moorehead, Otto Kruger, Gregg Palmer, and Mae Clarke NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had minute paper loss at the crossfolds and very minor fold wear. There were pinholes in the corners and a few in the borders.
