An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm] when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More) Over The Hill, the 1931 Henry King family relationship melodrama ("- The Greatest Human Story of All Times -"; "250 million people will see 'Over the Hill'. Will you be among the missing?"; "One solid year in New York. 10 months in London. 6 months in Chicago. 6 months in Boston."; "A picture that will last forever."; about an elderly couple who raised many children into successful adults, but when they find themselves on hard times in their old age, their children have one excuse after another as to why they don't take better care of them) starring Mae Marsh ("in a Triumphant Return"), James Dunn, Sally Eilers ("Together Again in Over the Hill"), Edward Crandall, Claire Maynard, and James Kirkwood. Note that this was based on a very famous poem written in 1872 by Will Carleton called "Over the Hill to the Poor House". There were two silent shorts and a silent feature based on this poem. There was a 1937 movie that credits this poem as its source, and Leo McCarey's 1937 "Make Way For Tomorrow" surely took much inspiration from this plot as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note this herald was folded in half at one time as was originally intended. Condition: good. The herald was folded in half an extra time. The herald has become brittle with age and there is much separation along the foldlines with some tiny areas of paper loss along those areas of separation. Learn More about condition grades
