An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in Belgium) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/4" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) To Each His Own, the 1946 Mitchell Leisen World War I (WWI) romantic family relationship mother/child melodrama ("One of the three great love stories of all time!"; "A Love Every Woman Will Understand... But Few Would Dare to Live!"; "She lived a dream... of a love too exquisite to last."; "To Her... a lifetime in this moment - To Him ... just a moment in his lifetime"; "Produced by Charles Brackett"; about a woman who has an affair with a World War I aviator, and she becomes pregnant and before they are married, he is killed in action, and she gives the baby up for adoption, and then during World War II, she runs into him, and does not reveal that she is his mother) starring Olivia De Havilland (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Mary Anderson, Roland Culver, Virginia Welles, Phillip Terry, Bill Goodwin, and John Lund (billed as "introducing John Lund"). Note that Paramount made an unusual casting decision in having John Lund play both the father killed in action and also his grown son, although Olivia De Havilland plays herself as both a young woman and an older mother! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a top play dates area that originally had 3" cut off of it, and the remaining 1" had part of the play dates printed on it. It was folded many times and there were some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of several foldlines and some tiny dot stains scattered in the poster, with some writing on the back of the upper right that slightly bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects (and the restorer chose to replace the rest of the missing blank top play dates area, and paint over the incomplete play dates from the bottom 1" of that area.
