Date Sold 4/24/2012 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Chain Lightning, the 1950 Stuart Heisler post-World War II (WWII) military test pilot airplane aviation thriller ("There's a new Bogart thrill in the sky!"; " - with that special brand of Bogart romance"; "The screen's biggest bolt of Bogart -- from Warner Bros."; "It Hits With Thunderbolt Force!"; "What an action role! He's a test pilot for jet planes!"; "Suggested by a Story by J. Redmond Prior") starring Humphrey Bogart, Eleanor Parker, Raymond Massey, Richard Whorf, James Brown, and Morris Ankrum. Note that the producers of this movie used an unusual tagline, "with that special brand of Bogart romance", which is certainly not how you would think of Bogart nowadays, but I guess in 1950 it made sense to advertise him that way! Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were used in French speaking parts of Canada, but they were printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So they are original stills from 1949, but they were printed for use in parts of Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good.
