An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/2" x 33 1/4" [62 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) Der Laufer von Marathon (released in English-speaking countries as "The Marathon Runner"), the 1933 E.A. Dupont (Ewald Andre Dupont) German Olympic track running sports melodrama (with a screenplay by Thea von Harbou, longtime collaborator with Fritz Lang, who wrote the screenplay for "Metropolis"; from the novel by Werner Scheff) starring Brigitte Helm (best remembered for her starring role in Fritz Lang's "Metropolis"), Victor De Kowa, Trude Von Molo, Hans Brausewetter, Ursula Grabley, and Paul Hartmann. Note that we are unable to find any information about this movie beyond the fact that it was partly filmed at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles. This is VERY frustrating! It combines the talents of a great director, a great writer, and the actress who starred in "Metropolis", so we would think it might be a wonderful movie, and of course, it has some strong connection to Olympic marathon running, and we don't even know what the plot of the movie is! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Erik Frederiksen Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is a censor stamp in the background at upper left and there are a few 1 1/2" and smaller tears and areas of foldline separation around the edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well and if one chose to have it linenbacked it would look great! Learn More about condition grades
