An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 39 1/2") (Learn More) Orphee (released in the U.S. as "Orpheus"), the classic 1950 Jean Cocteau French romantic fantasy (re-telling the classic fable of Orpheus and Eurydice, but set in modern day France, about how a man does not let even Death separate him from his beloved) starring Jean Marais (in the title role as Orphee/Orpheus), Francois Perier (as Heurtebise), Maria Casares (likely best remembered for her role as Death in this movie, where she played all her scenes with her eyes closed and with "eyes" painted over her eyelids!), Marie Dea (as Eurydice), Henri Cremieux, Greco, Roger Blin, and Edouard Dermithe NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Aberg Condition: very good to fine. The poster was tri-folded and there was minor wear on the foldlines and in the borders, and there were pinholes in the corners.
