An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell, the 1951 Henry Koster romantic comedy sequel ("Ring up another triumph for Mr. Belvedere"; "The greatest time of your life begins when... Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell"; "Based on a play presented on the stage by the Theatre Guild character 'Belvedere' created by Glen Davenport - from the play 'The Silver Whistle' by Robert E. McEnroe") starring Clifton Webb (in the title role as Mr. Belvedere), Joanne Dru, Hugh Marlowe, Zero Mostel, Billy Lynn, Doro Merande, Frances Brandt, Kathleen Comegys, Jane Marbury and Harry Hines and Hugh Beaumont. Note that the character of Mr. Belvedere was introduced in 1948's "Sitting Pretty". He proved to be very popular and a sequel was made the following year called "Mr. Belvedere Goes to College", followed by this second and final sequel two years later. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny areas of paper loss at each crossfold, but otherwise was in excellent condition. The NSS stamp bleeds through near the center of the top blank border and in the very top edge of the image. The poster was in excellent condition other than the above defects. If they bothered the new owner of the poster, any talented restorer could restore those areas, without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
