An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Blob, the 1958 Irvin S. Yeaworth Jr. science fiction (sci-fi) horror comedy thriller ("The Indestructible creature! The Blob"; "Bloated with the blood of its victims!"; "The management of this theatre disclaims any responsibility for heart attacks or damage to nerves."; "Certified"; "In Color!"; "Indescribable... Indestructible! Nothing can stop it!"; "It's indescribable! It's indestructible! Nothing... can stop it!"; "From an idea by Irvine H. Millgate") starring Steve McQueen (very young in this role; billed here as "Steven McQueen"), Aneta Corsaut (billed as "Aneta Corseaut" on the first release posters), Earl Rowe, Olin Howlin, Stephen Chase, John Benson, and George Karas. Note that the music for the title song for this movie was written by Burt Bacharach! Note that even though Steve McQueen was top billed in this movie, he was not yet known to the general public, and his image was not used on the posters (which DO have great art of the blob monster engulfing the townspeople).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good. The poster is very lightly rippled due to exposure to moisture and there are a few patches of slight discoloration or drip staining in some areas (slightly more noticeable at lower center.) There are several pinholes around the edges and along a few portions of the vertical foldline (some are torn or enlarged due to rough removal) and there is an extra horizontal fold just under the upper horizontal fold. There is small border loss at lower right. Despite these defects, the poster is otherwise "all there" and it has retained much of its color, and it could be linenbacked and it would look great, but please bear in mind its defects and cost of restoration before placing a bid.
