If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Japanese poster! Not only that, but we have never before auctioned ANY other Japanese posters (only programs) from this movie. Also note that, immediately after World War II, the U.S. occupied Japan and part of Germany, and many American movies were shown in both countries between 1945 and the end of the occupation. Most of the Japanese posters we have seen from that period and many of the German posters and programs from the same period have a "Motion Picture Export Association" circular printed logo on the poster or program, and apparently this was a program run in conjunction with the U.S. government. Since there were many U.S. servicemen in Japan and Germany at this time, many of these posters and programs have the title written in both Japanese (or German) and in English, and they are from the first release of that movie in that country. Condition: good to very good. The poster has the remnants of a snipe glued over the bottom 1". There is a tiny brown stain between Swanson's eyes. It has tiny pinholes in the borders and very minor fold wear. It has a faint stamp in the red background at bottom right just below the blue text. It has faint brown stains in Holden's shoulder below the hand. Other than the above, the poster is in nice condition. This exceptionally rare poster can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, a restorer could remove the partial snipe from the bottom and perform restoration to the other defects, but that will the the choice of the new owner.
