A 1951 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Mummy's Curse, the 1944 Leslie Goodwins Universal Egyptian curse murder monster horror thriller sequel ("New thrills! New terror!"; "Original Story and Adaptation by Leon Abrams and Dwight V. Babcock") starring Lon Chaney Jr. (reprising his title role as Kharis the Mummy), Peter Coe, Kay Harding, Virginia Christine, Dennis Moore, Martin Kosleck, Kurt Katch, Napoleon Simpson, Ann Codee, and William Farnum NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned the 1951 re-release one-sheet, half-sheet, and lobby cards, but we never really auctioned this insert before (we say "really", because we did auction a massively trimmed one, but that was trimmed down to 13" x 20", so we don't think that really counts). Also note also that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has slight darkening in the outer edges of parts of the borders, because it was displayed in a frame. It has pinholes and a few tiny tears around the edges. It has faint 5" horizontal creases scattered in the left of the word "MUMMY" in the title and in the yellow background below it, extending into the head of the mummy in the bottom left. It has a piece of brown tape on the back of each bottom corner, but otherwise has had no restoration. I would think many collectors would happily display this poster as it is (especially because the creases described above are not very distracting at all, or certainly, restoration could be performed). Either way, the new owner will get a really cool and really rare poster to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
