DISNEYLAND (location) DISNEYLAND (location) special poster OR search current auctions Auction History Result 4r0310 DISNEYLAND 2 16x20 special posters 1969 Haunted Mansion employee 1st day ads, beyond rare! Date Sold 7/6/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Group of 2 Unfolded Special Posters (measure 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Disneyland (now known as Disneyland Park) is a theme park that was built in Anaheim, California in 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property, but its name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s. Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with over 650 million guests since it opened. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in 1969 the Disneyland print shop made prints of the Haunted Mansion opening day ads for newspapers that were put up in backstage areas to promote excitement among the employees and to let them know that the long wait was over for the finally opened attraction. These prints are exceptionally rare "behind-the-scenes" prints. They come to us from a former Disney employee who took these home after they were used, and he says that they are not only incredibly rare, but these prints are one of a kind! Very few similar "employee posters" are ever sold or auctioned and the few that have have sold for very high prices! NOTE THAT WE AUCTIONED THESE TWO POSTERS AS A SET LAST YEAR, AND THE WINNING BIDDER RETURNED THEM BECAUSE HE DID NOT THINK THEY WERE PRINTED IN 1969, BECAUSE OF THE GLOSSY PAPER THEY ARE PRINTED ON. We are now re-auctioning them, both because they were consigned to us together with similar Disney posters that were surely from the 1960s and early 1970s, and because we know that Disney printed pressbooks and other items on a similar coated paper stock as early as the early 1960s. However, we can't guarantee that these are 100% surely from 1969 (although if they were any kind of reprint we would think they would surely be offered in several places and we have never seen them offered anywhere else). Please read the above carefully before bidding on these extremely rare posters. Condition: fine. The two very rare posters are both in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
