An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Back Street, the 1941 Robert Stevenson romantic melodrama (based on the novel by Fannie Hurst; about a woman who intends to marry a man, but circumstances prevent that from happening, and they separate for many years, and reunite when the man is married, but the woman has a "back street" affair with him) starring Charles Boyer, Margaret Sullavan, Richard Carlson, Frank McHugh, Tim Holt, Samuel S. Hinds, Esther Dale, and Nell O'Day. Note that this movie was a remake of the 1932 movie of the same name with Irene Dunne and John Boles, and was itself remade in 1961 by producer Ross Hunter, with Susan Hayward and John Gavin. There are many significant defects scattered along the edges of the poster, and there is much wear and paper loss along the foldlines and there are several areas of foldline and/or crossfold separation. Many of the defects have been repaired with tape from the back that slightly bleeds through to the front (the poster is being held together by tape). The poster is quite brittle.
