Note that Warren Beatty remade this movie in 1978, very closely following the original plot, but changing boxing to football, and he changed the name to "Heaven Can Wait", which was the name of the source play for this movie (it was not used for this movie, and it was used two years later on a different major 1940s comedy, starring Don Ameche) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the final script from April 7, 1941. Note that someone wrote the top five character names and the actors who played them on the title page in pencil and then within the script when each of those five characters first appear, they wrote the actor's name again. Also note that the writers are not credited on this but that the movie credits Sidney Buchman and Seton I. Miller. Note that this movie had the working title "Heaven Can Wait", but the studio went with "Here Comes Mr. Jordan" instead. Two years later, screenwriter Samson Raphaelson used that working title for a classic fantasy movie with Don Ameche. In 1978, Warren Beatty decided to remake "Here Comes Mr. Jordan", and he insisted on changing the title to the original working title "Heaven Can Wait", which greatly confused movie buffs, because they assumed he was remaking the classic 1943 movie, when actually he was remaking the 1941 "Here Comes Mr. Jordan"! Condition: good. The cover has much paper loss and the title page is fragile, darkened, and has paper loss in the right edge. The other pages have slight darkening around the edges but are otherwise in good condition. Learn More about condition grades
