An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) John Ford's My Darling Clementine, the classic 1946 John Ford Tombstone Arizona romantic cowboy western (based on a story by Sam Hellman from the book 'Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal' by Stuart N. Lake; about the legendary showdown between the Earp Brothers and the Clantons in Tombstone, including the gunfight at the OK Corral) starring Henry Fonda (as Wyatt Earp), Linda Darnell (as Chihuahua), Victor Mature (as Doc Holliday), Walter Brennan (as "Old Man Clanton"), Tim Holt (as Virgil Earp), Cathy Downs (in the title role, as Clementine Carter), John Ireland (as Billy Clanton), Ward Bond (as Morgan Earp), Alan Mowbray, Roy Roberts, Jane Darwell, Grant Withers, J. Farrell MacDonald, and Russell Simpson. Note that 20th Century-Fox was apparently uneasy about spending so much money on a western, and to hedge their bets, they strongly pushed sexy Linda Darnell in the title role, and they even made a teaser 24-sheet, which solely showed sexy Linda Darnell, and which had the tagline "Men are lost and gone forever when they go for Clementine!". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Sergio Gargiulo Important Added Info: Note that this is a very difficult poster to obtain! We have only auctioned four examples of it, and the last one was linenbacked and sold for $1,275, but the other three were in much lesser condition (two were in downright terrible condition!). Condition: good. The poster has uneven darkening on the back of much of the central part of the poster (apparently something was attached to the back of that area of the poster with some pieces of tape, but neither the darkening nor the tape has much effect on the front). There is a 3" vertical tear in the bottom center between the bottom of the "E" and "N" and there is tape on the back of that tear, and also tape on the back of separation in the center of the bottom vertical foldline next to that area. There are pinholes in the corners and some tears and paper loss around the edges and someone put some clear tape on the back of those areas. If I owned this rare and desirable poster I would surely give it to a top restorer and after proper restoration it would display wonderfully, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on it.
