An Original Vintage Austrian Movie Scrapbook (measures 11" x 12 1/2"; contains 10 stills; 53 pages) (Learn More) an Austrian scrapbook that was compiled when Billy Wilder and Jack Lemmon took a tour of Vienna, Austria, promoting their about to be released movie, "Some Like It Hot"! This scrapbook was purchased from the Billy Wilder Estate auction. Wilder was a native Austrian, and he went with Lemmon and his writing partner, and IAL Diamond. The scrapbook contains press articles that were written about their visit and about the movie, and there is a total of 53 pages in the scrapbook. Of the most interest to collectors are the ten candid stills (measuring around 8" x 10" or smaller) that were taken at various points during this promotional tour (see our images of all ten stills, and a selection of images of some of the press clippings). Some Like It Hot is of course the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award) romantic musical cross-dressing "drag" crime comedy starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown Important Added Info: Note: We have 27 images of the items in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 27 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 17. Condition: good to very good. There are some stains on the covers of the scrapbook. All of the items (the clippings and the photos were glued into the binder pages, which are plastic sleeves that have two holes at the left, and are contained within the binder; see our many images).
