An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Pennies from Heaven, the 1936 Norman Z. McLeod romantic family relationship musical carnival melodrama ("Grand Romance and Rhythm-m-m-m! Swellegant songs and syncopation!"; "Happiest of all his happy hits!"; based on the novel 'The Peacock's Feather' by Katherine Leslie Moore; while Crosby is in jail, he promises a condemned man that he will take care of his daughter, and after he gets out, he does!) starring Bing Crosby, Madge Evans, Edith Fellows, Louis Armstrong (billed as "Louis Armstrong and his famous Swing Band"), and Lionel Hampton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the top two crossfolds, with tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold. It had paper loss and tears scattered across the bottom two horizontal folds and in the entire vertical fold, with many pinholes around the edges and small paper loss in the left of the top horizontal fold. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone mounted the poster well, and then did restoration to the center of the image area, but then stopped, for unknown reasons. I would think that a talented restorer could perform the rest of the restoration, with or without backing the poster, but bear in mind its considerable defects and the need for additional restoration before placing a bid.
