An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the 1916 Stuart Paton silent science fiction (sci-fi) underwater deep sea exploration submarine action adventure thriller ("Scenes from ocean, earth and sky are shown in the Universal's first and only submarine drama"; "Filmed at he bottom of the ocean"; based on the 1869 Jules Verne novel of the same name) starring Lois Alexander, Curtis Benton, Wallis Clarke, Howard Crampton, Jane Gail, Joseph W. Girard, and Allen Holubar (as Captain Nemo). Note that there had been an even earlier silent version in 1907, but after this version, the next adaptation of this movie was not until the Disney version in 1954. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
