An Original Vintage Theatrical 7 1/2" x 10 1/4" [19 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Dancing Lady, the 1933 Robert Z. Leonard romantic love triangle stage acting dancing musical comedy ("The new sensational musical romance!"; Crawford is an actress in a low class dance show, and she gets arrested, and rich Tone gets her a better job, but Gable, who runs that show, falls for her; Healy is Gable's assistant and Fred Astaire and Nelson Eddy appear as themselves) starring Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Franchot Tone, May Robson, Winnie Lightner, Fred Astaire (without Ginger Rogers!), Robert Benchley, Ted Healy and his Stooges (Moe Howard, Curly Howard, Larry Fine; his "stooges" would soon form their own act and become immortal as "The Three Stooges"), Sterling Holloway, and Nelson Eddy. Note that this was Fred Astaire's very first movie, which means that Joan Crawford was his first movie dance partner (and it was also the first movie where he wore a top hat and tails!).

Important Added Info: Note that this really wonderful still is a candid from Dancing Lady. Ted Healy and His Stooges (before they became The Three Stooges!) had a small role in this movie, and first release movie paper of any kind from it is incredibly rare (they are not on the posters, and they are on a single lobby card). This is only the second still we have offered that pictures them (we auctioned the first one in 2017, and that one did not have nearly as good an image as this one, and it had Crawford instead of Gable, and it sold for $430!). Note that this is one of four truly remarkable (and incredibly rare) 1930s Three Stooges stills we were consigned from the collection of a man who collected on The Three Stooges decades ago. We are auctioning them in four separate auctions, and any one of the four would be a centerpiece of a Three Stooges collection! Note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 10 1/4" [19 x 26 cm].

Condition: very good. Part of the left and right blank borders were trimmed off, and the still now measures 7 1/2" x 10 1/4". It was once attached to some kind of album page, and it has glue stains and paper remnants on the back of the left and right borders. But otherwise, the still is in really nice condition, so it depends on how you view the missing portions of the blank borders as to how to grade this still, but we feel it deserves a "very good" grade, because it will look wonderful on the new owner's wall!
