Of course, it was Mickey Mouse that launched the company on the road to fame and fortune, and all the other well known Disney cartoon characters quickly followed, including Donald Duck and Goofy. In 1937, they made their first full-length animated feature, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", and later, they opened Disneyland, and have continued to be the leading producer of animation films there is. The company has changed named several times, being founded as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and in 1938 changing to Walt Disney Productions. In 1986, it was renamed to The Walt Disney Company. The company is the largest mass media company in the world, and operates several of its theme parks globally including Walt Disney World and Disneyland. In recent years, it merged with Pixar and also purchased the Star Wars empire from George Lucas. Important Added Info: Note that this cool Christmas card was sent out by the Walt Disney Company at the end of 1968, and it has a die-cut cover with the word "JOY" on it, and it opens up to reveal all the classic Disney characters and a 1969 calendar.
