Bouchey, and Milburn Stone. Note that originally Betty Grable was going to play the lead female role, and Marilyn Monroe read for the part as well, but ultimately, Jean Peters got the part. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14 1/4" x 19 1/4" [36 x 49 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had several horizontal folds and two partial vertical folds, with many creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of paper loss on all the folds. It had writing on the back of the center of the poster that bled through in the top of the girl's arm. It had paper loss in the middle of the left blank border and stains in the top blank area. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster). Please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
