Mister Roberts, the 1948 - 1951 Joshua Logan Broadway stage play production (of the play by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan) starring Henry Fonda (in the title role as Mister Roberts), Robert Keith, William Harrigan, Murray Hamilton, and Jocelyn Brando. Of course, all movie buffs are familiar with the classic movie adaptation of this play that was done in 1955, but many do not realize that not only had Fonda previously starred in this role on Broadway, but that it was at one time one of the longest running non-musical plays ever on Broadway, and that Fonda played the role for four consecutive years!
