Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 24" x 82" [61 x 208 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The left blank border was trimmed off. There were vertical creases, smudges, and scuffs scattered in the right image area and a lesser amount scattered in the rest of the poster, and some pinholes and tiny paper loss in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that the reason the image area at right has more wear than the rest of the poster is because it was "tipped in", meaning it was printed on a separate sheet and glued onto the poster (this is how all of these paper banners were made, because it saved money on printing when they just printed the image area).
