4p0094 LAST HUNT signed 1sh 1956 by director Richard Brooks, art of Robert Taylor, Granger & Paget!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Last Hunt, the 1956 Richard Brooks cowboy western ("Stampede of 1,000 Wild Buffalo!"; "Stampede of 3,000 Wild Buffalo!"; "M-G-M presents the mighty drama of the last buffalo hunt in Cinemascope and Color!"; "MGM presents the great story in Cinemascope and Color"; about the destruction of buffalo herds through careless killing by American settlers; "Based on the novel by Milton Lott") starring Robert Taylor, Stewart Granger, Lloyd Nolan, Debra Paget, and Russ Tamblyn. Note that we have sold both a window card and a title card from this movie, and oddly, the window card describes the wild buffalo stampede as having 3,000 buffalo, while the title card describes it as 1,000! We wonder if they intended to rent 3,000 buffalo, but when they found out the cost, decided to save a lot of money and only rent one third as many. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by director Richard Brooks!

This poster comes from a remarkable collection of 81 one-sheets (and one reproduction), which we are currently auctioning in 82 separate auctions. Our consignor was a college professor for a number of years, who was a close friend of Ray Harryhausen, and who became friendly with many Hollywood directors, actors, and crew members. He had a collection of movie posters in the 1970s, and when he would have a chance to meet an actor, director, or crew member, he would find one-sheets in his collection from movies that person had worked on, and he would bring it to their meeting, and ask the person to sign (and on several occasions, he was able to get more than one signature on a single poster), and some of the people who signed wrote an inscription, sometimes personalized to our consignor. He has passed away, and he did not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are 100% certain all the signatures on his 81 one-sheets are authentic, because they were acquired in person by our consignor. This is a rare opportunity to obtain vintage one-sheets with authentic signatures!

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: good to very good.
