An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Uninvited, the 1944 Lewis Allen romantic fantasy suspense ghost horror thriller ("From the most popular mystery romance since 'Rebecca'!"; "The story of a love that is out of this world!"; based on the novel by Dorothy Macardle) starring Ray Milland, Ruth Hussey, Donald Crisp, Cornelia Otis Skinner, Barbara Everest, Gail Russell (billed as "Introducing the Exciting Beauty of Paramount's New Star Gail Russell whose first love is shadowed by the spectres of the past!"), Dorothy Stickney, and Alan Napier. Note that Gail Russell suffered from terrible stage fright, and she was encouraged to drink while making this movie, to "calm her nerves", but that led to her becoming an alcoholic, and having a tragic end to her career and an early death. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but because of the tape on the back of the poster, which prevents it from being re-folded (see below), it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The owner of this poster decades ago decided to reinforce the poster by putting clear tape on the back of all the foldlines and on the back of any tears or pinholes around the edges of the poster (if there was any paper loss at all, he put a tiny piece of paper underneath the tape, and over the paper loss, and then used colored pen to make the repair match the color from the front)! The tape has somewhat bled through to the front. The poster CAN'T be folded, because of all the tape on the back of the foldlines. One could either display the poster just as it is, or any talented restorer could certainly remove the tape, linenback the poster, and then perform touch up to its defects, and it would look great. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this very significant defect, and have carefully studied our super-sized image to see the exact extent of the tape bleed through.
