An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Herald (measures 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" [13 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

I Give My Heart (released in the U.S. as "The Loves of Madame Dubarry"), the 1935 Marcel Varnel English musical operetta romantic melodrama("Charming romance of the little milliner who enslaved kings and princes."; "Gorgeous music & spectacle") starring Gitta Alpar (billed as "The Human Nightingale" and "The Original Du Barry"; in the title role as Madame DuBarry), Patrick Waddington, Owen Nares, Arthur Margetson, and Margaret Bannerman. Note that there were three silent versions of this movie in the 1910s. In 1930 came "Du Barry, Woman of Passion", the first sound version, followed by this movie in 1935. In 1943, there was "Du Barry Was a Lady", with Lucille Ball, but that was a comedy and was not from the same source as this movie and the earlier versions.
