Date Sold 7/27/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 14 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) A Walk in the Sun, the classic 1945 Lewis Milestone World War II (WWII) military melodrama ("A new milestone of screen greatness!"; "From the novel by Harry Brown"; "Screenplay by Robert Rossen"; about a platoon in Italy in World War II, where the sergeant ends up in command due to deaths of his superior officers, and he must attack a Nazi-held farmhouse, and as the soldiers wait to attack, each of the members of the platoon tell about themselves in flashback) starring Dana Andrews, Richard Conte, George Tyne, John Ireland, Lloyd Bridges, Sterling Holloway, Norman Lloyd, Herbert Rudley, Richard Benedict, and Huntz Hall (in a rare non-Bowery Boys role!). Note that the screenplay for this movie was written by Robert Rossen, in the years when he was solely a screenwriter, before he became an excellent director! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 14 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Condition: good. Each still has a faint embossed Danish censor stamp in one corner and several pinholes in each corner that have mostly been repaired with tape from the back.
