7 Oktober Nationalfeiertag (literally translates to "7th October National Holiday"), the 1987 East German poster featuring Andre Kahane art of the symbol for the German Democratic Republic (Deutsche Demokratische Republik or DDR). Note that the holiday was Tag der Republik, which was an East German national holiday created to commemorate the founding of the country on October 7th, 1949. Also, note that Andre Kahane was the son of Max Kahane, a German communist journalist who covered war crime trials such as the Nuremberg trials and the Eichmann trial.
