Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Last Trail, the 1927 Lewis Seiler silent action cowboy western ("Zane Grey's whirlwind story of the plains"; based on the novel by Zane Grey; "Zane Grey's Whirlwind Story of the Plains") starring Tom Mix, Tony (billed as "The Wonder Horse"), Carmelita Geraghty, William Davidson, and Jerry Madden (billed as "Jerry the Giant"). Note that Jerry Madden had a small part in a 1925 movie, and then starred in "Jerry the Giant", a William Fox comedy short. He made a total of five of these shorts between 1926 and 1927, when Madden was between 3 and 4 years old. He also co-starred with Tom Mix in this movie! We don't know why Madden had this nickname, but we do know that as he became an older boy, he only had minor parts, and he had six roles in the 1930s, before he left movies. However, he lived all the way until 2009, when he passed away at the age of 85. If anyone knows more about Jerry Madden, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. the poster was linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had extra horizontal folds (1" from the top edge and 2" from the top edge), as well as a horizontal fold 2" from the bottom edge; there was a diagonal crease in the top right corner; there was a tape stain on the center crossfold between Tom Mix's first and last name and a tape stain in the black background in the center of the bottom credits; there were many stains and smudges in the lower left and lower right solid black areas; there were tiny holes at the crossfolds and some separation on the foldlines; The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! The image area was almost entirely complete, and expert restoration has greatly minimized the above defects. They can still be seen from close up, but from any distance away they pretty much vanish and the poster looks great! Learn More about condition grades
