An Original Vintage Comic Book (measures 6 3/4" x 10 1/4" [17 x 26 cm]) (Learn More)

Tomb of Dracula first published by Marvel Comics in 1972. The lead character is, of course, based on the vampire Count Dracula from the novel of the same name by author Bram Stoker. The Marvel version of Dracula was created by Gerry Conway and Gene Colan in 1972 and continued to #70 in August 1979. In October of 1979, a magazine series published by Marvel Comics and Curtis Magazines, continued the adventures of the vampire lord from the discontinued comic book series. The magazine series lasted only six issues, was black and white with a 68 page count per issue. The Marvel version of Dracula also starred in Dracula Lives!, a black-and-white horror comic magazine series published by Marvel from 1973 to 1975. Running concurrently with The Tomb of Dracula, the continuities of the two titles occasionally overlapped, with storylines weaving between the two.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "key issue" that features the first appearance of Blade the Vampire Slayer!

Note that because this is an earlier issue, we have pictured many pages of the comic book in this auction, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of those images are displayed above. IMPORTANT: there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other ones, so be sure to click on that to see ALL the images from this comic.

Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading. Our "very good" is completely different from a comic book graded "very good". We provide many images of the comic book (covers, plus interior 2-page spreads), which surely allows you to get an excellent opinion of the exact condition of this comic book, so it takes out any worries that the comic has been "over-graded", because you can "grade" it yourself, by looking at the many images!

This is one of a remarkable collection of 268 mostly 1970s Marvel comics, including 136 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, with most of the issues between #15 and #156, plus #2 and #12! These were consigned directly from the collector who gathered them in the 1970s, and none have had any restoration or have been "slabbed"! And EVERY one of these 268 comics start at $1 with truly no reserve. This is the kind of buying opportunity every comic book collector dreams of, and when these auctions close on October 26, every one of these comics will have a new owner!

Condition: good. The comic has some "spine roll" (see our images).
