An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Shield of Honor, the 1927 Emory Johnson silent jewel robbery crime romantic melodrama ("A thrilling police drama"; "The big police melodrama that will stop traffic!"; "Story by Emilie Johnson", who was director Emory Johnson's mother; about a 65 year old cop about to be retired, and his son was about to become the first "aviation" police officer in a plane; the son falls in love with the daughter of a jewelry store owner, and the movie ends with a climactic air battle, where the jewel thieves are captured) starring Neil Hamilton, Dorthy Gulliver, Ralph Lewis, Nigel Barrie, Claire McDowell, and Thelma Todd (in one of her earliest roles, at the time when she was first getting some major parts, but here she is sixth billed). Note that director Emory Johnson really loved his mother, because all but one of the 13 movies he directed were based on stories written by his mother! Also, note that this was thought to be a "lost" film, but it can be found at both the UCLA Archives and the George Eastman House.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1927 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned two scene lobby cards and a pressbook from this movie until we received this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. The card has slightly darkened, more so down the right border. There is a tear in the lower right blank border that was repaired with tape from the back. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition.
