An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Home Town Story, the 1951 Arthur Pierson political bureaucratic newspaper journalism melodrama ("It could happen anywhere!"; "The Romantic School Teacher"; "The Beautiful Secretary"; "The Trapped Child"; "The Fighting Editor"; also written by Arthur Pierson; this odd movie was commissioned by General Motors to glorify "big business"!; it shows a liberal newspaper man who is anti-Big Business, until his sister is trapped in a cave-in, and only modern technology is able to save her, which causes the reporter to realize just how great big business is!; MGM distributed this movie as a favor to GM, and this movie would have been quickly forgotten except that young Marilyn Monroe had a minor supporting role, which meant it could be shown to large audiences) starring Jeffrey Lynn, Donald Crisp, Marjorie Reynolds, Marilyn Monroe, and Alan Hale Jr. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the consignor of this window card (and several others we are offering at auction currently) chose to display it in a special way. He folded back the top 4" of the card (which does not affect the image of course), and then he had the card placed in an attractive colored mat. He has sent us both the window cards and the colored mats. We are auctioning only the window card, but if its new owner wishes, we can send the mat that was cut for this window card along with it (but bear in mind that it will cost extra, because it will make the package larger, and the mat can only be used if the new owner re-folds the top 4" of the card). If we are not contacted by the buyer that they want us to send the mat, we will simply send the window card and discard the mat. Condition: good.
