He was a major silent star, surely best remembered for his role as Messala in the 1925 version of "Ben-Hur". He continued acting for many years! Some of his movies include: The Return of Richard Neal (in the title role), Thoroughbreds Don't Cry, Sabrina, and The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini. Note that Bushman was the original "King of the Movies" before that label was attached to Clark Gable! Bushman passed away in 1966 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Francis X. Bushman (he signed both the front and back, likely because he was cashing the check at a hotel)! It is a check that he signed on the front (see our images). Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to be authentic.
