An Original Vintage English Promotional Movie Portfolio (measures 11 1/2" x 11 3/4") (Learn More)

Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the 1979 Robert Wise futuristic science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure thriller ("The Human Adventure Is Just Beginning."; "There Is No Comparison."; "The Motion Picture"; "Story by Alan Dean Foster"; "Screenplay by Harold Livingston") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. "Bones" McCoy), James Doohan (as Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott), George Takei (as Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), Nichelle Nichols (as Lieutenant Commander Uhura), Majel Barrett, Persis Khambatta (billed as "presenting Persis Khambatta"), Stephen Collins ("as Lt. Willard Decker"; "as Decker"), and Grace Lee Whitney. Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that this movie was made in 1979. Three years later, Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed a sequel, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since!

Important Added Info: Note that this portfolio is one of the absolute most elaborate I have ever seen! It has a printed slipcase-like box, which has a cool die-cut color "clasp". Inside are seven really cool 4-page color brochures, each with unusual designs on the outside and information and images about the movie on the inside of each. The entire package was mailed in a white calumet cardboard container, and this example comes with an unused container (we have photographed it). Note that it is marked "Printed in England" on the inside of the slipcase, which is why we are calling it English, but of course, it may have just been printed in England but used in the U.S.

Condition: very good to fine. The blank mailer has some darkening around the edges, but the portfolio is in excellent condition!
