Blystone post-Armistice World War I (WWI) military screwball comedy (produced by Hal Roach; set in the present day, 20 years after the end of World War I, Stan is a forgotten World War I soldier who never left his post for 20 years after the war was over, and his best friend Ollie introduces him to the many things he has missed in the world over the past two decades!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Patricia Ellis, Minna Gombell, Billy Gilbert, James Finlayson, and Patsy Moran NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had pinholes, tears, and small paper loss around the edges, going into the background areas. There were some stains, smudges, and scuffs scattered in the card. Overall, the lobby card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
