An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81") (Learn More)

The Cat's Meow, the 1924 Roy Del Ruth silent police crime gambling romantic screwball slapstick comedy short (produced by Mack Sennett; about a simple fellow whose girlfriend convinces him to take her to a resort called "The Cat's Meow", where many bad people hang out, and even though he is beaten up, the townspeople make him a policeman, and he manages to put all the bad guys in jail) starring Harry Langdon, Alice Day, Ray Grey, Tiny Ward, and Louise Carver. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster features a classic image of a silent comedian being menaced by a REALLY giant bad guy!

Condition: very good. The poster had a thin 3" strip of paper loss in the upper middle of the vertical foldline, in the top of the green phone box. There was some tiny surface paper loss in the center of the sweater and in the arm of the giant bad guy. Otherwise, the poster had only very minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer did not touch up the tiny areas of surface paper loss in the center of the bad guy's sweater (any restorer could easily touch up those areas without re-backing the poster).
