An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Michel Strogoff (released in the U.S. as "Michael Strogoff"), the 1926 Viktor Tourjansky French/German Russia silent adventure thriller ("The amazing exploits of the most daring character in fiction by Jules Verne"; "Carl Laemmle presents Jules Verne's mightiest melodrama"; "Stupendous! Awe-Inspiring!"; "A Universal Film de France Triumph"; from the novel by Jules Verne; about a courier who has vital documents he needs to deliver to the Russian Czar, and he goes through the worst difficulties to do so, including being tortured with hot pokers in his eyes as his mother looks on!) starring Ivan Mozzhukhin (billed as "Ivan Moskine, Europe's Idol of the screen as The Secret Courier"; in the title role as Michael Strogoff), Nathalie Lissenko and Acho Chakatouny. Note that this movie is based on the novel, "Michael Strogoff: The Courier of the Czar" written by Jules Verne in 1876. Apparently, this was an incredibly popular action novel of that time, and over the years, there have been around a dozen film adaptations, both silent and sound! Sometimes the lead character's name is changed slightly so as to not sound foreign to the country that made the movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. nail hole in the center of the image in the woman's wrist and two nail holes in the image background; nail holes, stains, smudges, and areas of surface paper loss around the edges of the poster This window card is in "lesser" condition (it is clearly in less than "very good" condition, and may be all the way down to "fair" condition, as we are selling a collection of early window cards that were found inside of a wall, and those all have water stains and other defects, which should be easily seen on our large images)! This window card has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right. In addition, we have also noted in words what these defects are in our "Description of Defects" section above, as some of these defects may not be all that visible in the images. We know that some collectors could accept this window card's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this window card if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored. Of course, you should realize that if you do not bid on this window card because of its condition defects, it may be quite some time before you see this window card offered again!
