Date Sold 6/11/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release (re-titled "Prison Bait" for this re-release) Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Reform School, the 1939 Leo C. Popkin all-black African American prison juvenile delinquent crime comedy starring Louise Beavers, Harlem's Tuff Kids (a black version of the Dead End Kids!), Reginald Fenderson, Monte Hawley, Eugene Jackson, and an "all colored cast". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this all-black movie was released in 1939 by tiny Million Dollar Pictures, a maker of all-black cast movies. It appears that in the early 1940s (but perhaps as late as 1946) that Million Dollar re-released the movie as "Prison Bait", and that in 1948, Toddy Pictures purchased the rights to this movie, along with many other all-black cast movies, and re-released it under the re-release title "Prison Bait". Posters from the Toddy release are sometimes mistakenly sold as first release, and posters and lobby cards from the first 1939 release are extremely rare! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The cards are in pretty nice condition and they have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they never have had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
