Ernest Hemingway's The Killers, the 1946 Robert Siodmak ("Of 'The Spiral Staircase' fame"; nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) crime film noir ("From the story by Ernest Hemingway"; "Produced by Mark Hellinger"; "It's told the untamed Hemingway way!"; "Tense! Taut! Terrific!"; the screenwriter, Anthony Veiller, came up with a "prequel" to the classic short story, and he devised a very interesting and very believable back-story that would explain the actions of the characters in Hemingway's story) starring Burt Lancaster (in his first screen role; billed as "introducing Burt Lancaster"), Ava Gardner, Edmond O'Brien, Albert Dekker, Sam Levene, Virginia Christine, Charles D. Brown, William Conrad, Charles McGraw, Jack Lambert, Vera Lewis, Harry Hayden, Jeff Corey, and Jack Cheatham

Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this poster before and the lat one sold for $411! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster has a patch of discoloration at lower right in the right edge of the lower horizontal fold (see our image). There is a small horizontal scuff in Lancaster's shoulder and there is a similar one at lower center. There is some paper loss in the blank corners at right. There is a small tear at right that has been repaired with tape from the back. The poster has a very lightly rippled feel. It is otherwise "mostly all there" and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
