An Original Vintage Folded World War I Poster (measures 29 3/4" x 44 1/2" [76 x 113 cm]) (Learn More)

Souscrivez a la Banque Transatlantique (literally translates to "Subscribe to the Transatlantic Bank"), the 1910s French World War I (WWI) War Bond poster (with a tagline that translates to "National Loan") commissioned by the Banque Transatlantique to encourage citizens to help the war efforts. Note that this poster features Jean Droit art of Marianne (the national personification of France) steering a ship filled with fruit, textiles and books.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster has darkened (especially around the edges) and there are some tears and small areas of paper loss along portions of the borders. There is some slight discoloration mainly along the right edge. Someone backed the poster on to a very thin paper backing that is peeling away from the poster in some areas. It is otherwise "all there" and one could certainly have the poster removed from the thin paper backing and properly linenbacked and restored, after which it would display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
