Now a movie"; "In the Valley of the Dolls, it's instant turn-on... dolls to put you to sleep at night, kick you awake in the morning, make life seem great-instant love, instant excitement... ultimate hell!"; "The motion picture that shows what America's all time #1 best seller first put into words!"; "The nation's most startling and hotly discussed best-seller now on the screen with every shock and sensation intact!"; "NEELY O'HARA: ... who was such a nice kid - until they put her name in lights. Note that the music for this movie was composed by John Williams (apparently his first real time doing so for a movie), and on the soundtrack CD he is billed as "Johnny Williams"! Note that "everybody" knew that the book was partially loosely based on the life of Judy Garland and other Hollywood stars, but to protect themselves, the producers added a note to the posters that read "The Producers wish to state that any similarity between any person, living or dead, and the characters portrayed in this film, is purely coincidental and not intended." AND Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, the 1970 Russ Meyer sexploitation movie ("This time... they've really gone Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"; "The world is full of them, the super-octane girls who are old at twenty"; "If they get to be twenty."; "This is not a sequel - there has never been anything like it!";"The closer they get to the top- The nearer they get to the bottom."; "Story by Roger Ebert and Russ Meyer") starring Dolly Read (as Kelly Mac Namara), Cynthia Myers (as Casey Anderson), Marcia McBroom (as Petronella Danforth), John La Zar (as Z-Man), Michael Blodgett, David Gurian, Edy Williams, Haji, Erica Gavin, and Koko Tani. Note that the lead actresses portray singers in the movie and that their band is called "The Carrie Nations" (after the famous feminist). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in recent months we auctioned a collection of sexploitation one-sheets that included many rare titles from a single collector, and last month we auctioned the last of that collection. NOW, we have been consigned a different collection which includes even more very rarely seen titles! In this set of auctions we auctioned the first group of one-sheet from this new collection, and there are 148 different ones(all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and, like the previous collection we auctioned, this consignor also only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: good. The poster was folded somewhat oddly, resulting in irregular folds and light creases scattered in various areas (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
