An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster has creases and tiny surface paper loss in the left and right of the horizontal fold and some tiny tears and creases in the top of the vertical foldline, with 1 1/2" of separation at the bottom of the vertical foldline. There is a pinhole in each corner and some tiny tears and smudges around the edges of the poster. There is darkening in the extreme outer edge of the borders. There is very tiny paper loss at the crossfold. The poster has never had any restoration! The poster has many defects, but most of them are not very distracting, and I would think almost any collector could happily display this great half-sheet just as it is, or certainly, any talented restorer could perform restoration and it would look even better!
