An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 23 1/2" x 31 1/4" [60 x 79 cm]) (Learn More) Tintin et les Oranges Bleues (literally translates to "Tintin and the Blue Oranges"), the 1964 Philippe Condroyer French/Spanish science fiction (sci-fi) family adventure live-action comedy (based on the characters created by Herge) starring Jean Bouise, Jean-Pierre Talbot (in the title role as Tintin), Felix Fernandez, Jenny Orleans, and Angel Alvarez. Note that the first Tintin live-action film was the 1961 Tintin et le Mystere de la Toison d'Or. It was a success and this second live-action film was produced. However, all of the roles except for the part of Tintin were recast, and the film did not do well. Since then, there have only been animated Tintin films. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Herge Important Added Info: Note that there is a tiny "8/66 Depot Legal 66/3" with "28804" under the Depot Legal after the printer information at the bottom of the poster. The LAMP website says that they THINK this may mean that this is a 1966 re-release, and that this is the third time the poster was printed, but we don't know of any official confirmation of this. If anyone has seen a different poster without the "66/3" (or believes they know more about this), please e-mail us and we will post it here. In any event, please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the uncertainty that it is from either 1964 or 1966. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this partially French movie! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was folded once in each direction and it had minor wear on the folds. There were a few tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
